European Film Festival 2013
The Delegation of the European Union to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean in collaboration with the European Union member states presents the Fifth European Film Festival.
The Festival features 24 films from Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom.
Apart from two films, this year no film is being screened twice.

Grandpa Đurađ has departed this world but his American pension is still paid to his widow Neđa and is the only source of income for the Paripović family. When Neđa suddenly dies, the head of the family, Mane, devises a cunning plan to ensure that the family continues to receive the pension. Everyone is thrilled by the idea, apart from Mane’s nephew Branko, whose only desire is to get away from his relatives as soon as he possibly can.

Molly and Maarten wrestle with their personal relationships and also their relationship with one another, but fate nevertheless seems determined to strike them both down.

But he has run up a large debt, and when his friend, the grave-digger Mr. Broz, suggests a scheme for making a lot of money by marrying a Russian woman so that she can get her Czech papers, he reluctantly agrees.

Young Ondra has asthma and so his mom throws away his favorite toy: a musty old stuffed bear named Kooky. That night Ondra dreams that Kooky is determined to find his way back home from the dump. In the boy's fantasy, the bear gets lost in a forest occupied by strange animals and remarkable beings that he never heard of while living on the toy shelf in Ondra's room. And of course even in this small imaginary world, true good exists as does real evil, which Kooky must face up to in order to become a real hero.

A remake of Luigi Comencini's 1961 film of the same name. It begins in a Milanese parking lot where protagonist Guido (Fabrizio Bentivoglio) falls for Antonella (Paola Cortellesi), who works for a television show. After forming a fast partnership, the two combine wits in order to steal 190,000 dollars in a holdup, but the plan goes horribly askew, and Guido is sent to prison. While in jail, Guido becomes the target of a mean-spirited Turkish convict known among prisoners only as "Tiger" (Tuncel Kurtiz) and his flunkie (Boubker Rafik).

Then, suddenly, all his problems seem to get resolved: his social standing, the factory and his marriage. However, it turns out there are dirty secrets underlying this success.

Halina lives in a small town with her mother and her daughter. She works as a supermarket cashier, working much harder than she should. Soon Halina becomes manager, but it is not long before she learns that the promotion comes at a price.

Brendan, a former friend of their daughter’s, happens to pay them a visit, and this is only the first in a series of odd situations.
